To Attract Is To Repel When Marketing

cropped-cropped-cropped-mark.jpgTo attract is to repel! How is this possible? Aren’t the two opposites of each other? Yes they are, but you must understand that in your marketing efforts you are trying to reach a certain type of people.  When you have a specific type of people in mind, you focus SOLELY on their challenges, needs, pains and desires.

When you are able to pin point your target market’s challenges, you can design steps for them to take to help overcome those challenges.

Knowing your target market’s needs puts you in a place of grand opportunity. If they need it and you supply it, you can build a very nice business relationship.

Finding out the target market’s pains is going to take a little time and effort. To get them to open up might not be easy, but it can be done.

Finding out the target market’s desires is critical to your marketing campaign.

Asking questions is KEY to successfully addressing your target market. Here are some sample questions:

1. What keeps them up at night?

2. What are their fears?

3. thecopywritir desires?

4. What would they like to accomplish?

5. If money or time wasn’t an issue, what would they be doing, instead?

6. What type of home or car would they like to own?

Learning the answers to these questions will save you, the marketer, a lot of time and unnecessary frustration.

Furthermore, the last thing a marketer wants is a bunch of tire kickers! You want red hot leads, and the best way to do that is to make sure you repel clients you DON’T want! Here are a few sample leads:

Check out this story of how a church used targeted marketing:

“One of the neighborhood churches asked me to create an ad strictly looking for people who needed to be delivered from drugs and alcohol. Since several of their members had already experienced deliverance from substance abuse, they knew they could help other people with similar problems become free of drugs and alcohol by sharing the steps they had taken.”

Take the time to know your target market’s challenges, needs, pains, and desires, so you can repel the people you don’t want or need.
