What should you do when prospecting for new clients? If you want to become a top earner in any business, you must present your company to as many people as you possibly can. This mindset is critical for your success!

First, let’s discuss how to approach your cold market–the people you don’t know. The worst thing you can do is meet someone for the first time and begin a conversation about your business opportunity . They don’t know you! Why would someone listen to a complete stranger talk about how to make money? I wouldn’t listen.  Would you?

Here is how I approach a total stranger. I first introduce myself. Then I talk about regular things like events, activities, their occupation, etc. However, I don’t spend too much time on this.  Time is money! If they ask me about my occupation, I casually mention that I help people grow their home businesses. Then I go right back to talking about what they do. If they seem interested in what I do, then I say, “I’m working on a project. If it doesn’t interfere with what you are already doing,  would you be interested?” That’s an easy yes or no question.

Now for your warm market–people you already know, you can say to them, “My mentor and I are working on a project and will need some feedback. If I send you a short video, will you watch it and tell me what you think?” They’re your family and friends, so more than likely, they’re going to say yes. Give them a specific time you’re going to call, and when you call ask the following questions. “What did you like best about the video? The opportunity to make money or the incredible product?”  Don’t give them a chance to give a negative response. Instead, your goal is to ignite their interest!
